In a word, no.
I can understand why people might think face to face is best.
Isn’t it nice to have a strong connection with a person who cycles round every Tuesday and teaches them Maths?
It’s all a lovely picture but it doesn’t always quite add up the way we think…
Here’s why online tutoring may well offer a better experience for you and your child:
- Access to the Best Tutors:
With online tuition, you can have access to the best tutors from anywhere in the world, not just the ones that happen to be in your local area.
- Skills and Plan are King:
The quality of the tutor’s teaching skills and their plan is more important than whether you’re learning in person or online. Don’t settle for a mediocre tutor just because they’re nearby.
- Group Learning benefits:
Online tuition allows for group learning with like-minded people who are in the same spot as your child. Let them be inspired and motivated by others on the same journey. It is difficult to put a price on a culture of success.
- Online is the Future:
Let’s face it, most learning is going online these days. You can teach yourself almost anything online if you have the right skills. I have taught myself French recently even though I hated it in school. Feel free to test me during a free Maths Breakthrough Call!
Why not develop these life skills now?
Online tuition also allows us to use state of the art technologies (particularly well suited to Maths) and is far easier to arrange without the worry of someone coming into your home.
Less time commuting by the tutor means more time giving thoughtful feedback and tasks.
To add to all that, you don’t have to have your kitchen counter spotless 24-7.
What’s not to love?!
